Upgrading to Snow Leopard, Lion, or Mountain Lion
I have an older 2010 macbook pro that came with 10.6.3, meaning the old retail 10.6 would not work on it (would cause a kernel panic). I used the image with TransMac to create a bootable flash drive and was able to install Snow Leopard on the laptop. I did not test the bootcamp iso or any other parts of the archive. To use the Signal desktop app, Signal must first be installed on your phone. Launchpad is a tiny application that brings Lion's Launchpad feature to Mac OS X 10.5 and 10.6. At its very first run, all installed applications are gonna be located and automaticaly included in Launchpad. The user can set an app as a favorite and access it directly from a favorite's tray. You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.

After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store.
