I have an older MacBook (2008) and I am running OS X Lion, which is highest possible OS X version my MacBook supports. I've made several purchases from the Mac App Store. I recently started fresh with a new HD, and I discovered that when I tried to re-install my previous purchases from the App Store, if the app was currently at a version not supported by Lion, then I get a message: '(App) can’t be installed on “OS X Lion” because Mac OS X version 10.8 or later is required.' I was wondering if it was possible to access previous, Lion compatible versions through the App Store to download? Some of these apps were actual purchases, not free, and I am disappointed. Thank you.
